shopify revert old analytics issues
Why Shopify Should Revert to the Old Analytics Dashboard Immediately
Since January, Shopify’s updated Analytics dashboard has disappointed merchants. Here’s why rolling back to the old version may be the smartest fix.
1. Old Analytics Was Reliable
The old dashboard provided clear, accurate reports all in one place. The new version splits key data across disconnected pages.
2. No Way to Filter Internal Visits
You and your developers are now counted as customers. These cannot be excluded, ruining data accuracy for sessions, conversions, and behavior.
3. Conflicting Metrics
One report shows add-to-carts, another doesn’t. Live view says checkouts are happening — even with zero site visitors. It’s a mess.
4. Support Is Ignoring the Problem
Merchants have opened tickets, only to have them closed without resolution. Shopify is not acknowledging widespread feedback.
Why Revert Back?
Reason | Benefit |
---|---|
Customer Trust | Proven reliability and satisfaction |
Data Accuracy | Fewer bugs and clean reports |
Ease of Use | No need to relearn a broken tool |
Internal Filtering | Excludes you and your dev team from stats |
